The security of U.S. Payments' Transaction Management System was designed by a U.S. Department of Homeland Security certified programmer. Only 25 people in the nation having this prestigious certification are serving the public sector.
PaySite™ kiosks are not only compact and attractive, they are solidly built to last for dependable, worry-free performance. But their real beauty quietly operates behind the scene the U.S. Payments Transaction Management System. This is the most advanced financial processing system available, loaded with the latest security features. You get all the high-level security of a bank or lockbox in an intuitive, automated system that's easy to use for you and your customers.
Server Processing Capacity
Capable of processing approximately 410 transaction inserts per server, per second. Equates to 1.47 million transactions per hour, per server. The servers are easily scalable on short notice.
Server Redundancy
- Clustered database architecture allows for loss of a server without impacting the application.
- Load-balanced web server farm equally shares the load between multiple web servers. If one fails, traffic is automatically re-routed.
- Quad Xeon processors with each server.
- Raid 5 Arrays.
- Dual power supplies.
- Dual UPS battery back-ups.
- On-site back-up power generator.
Data in Use
- Employee access to sensitive payment information is granted only on a
"need-to-know" basis.
- A unique ID is assigned to each user with access to the application. Any access or change to the data is logged with a date/time stamp plus original and new values.
- A combination of page-level security and access levels allows for robust security of the application.
Data in Storage
- Sensitive payment data is protected using AES encryption (the same encryption method used by the National Security Agency).
- Personal information is stored on a secure server protected using a DMZ buffer zone that utilizes two layers of Cisco PIX Firewall protection.
Data in Transit
- Redundant servers use 128-Bit Secure Socket
- Layered (SSL) encryption to send and receive data.
- Kiosks are connected via point-to-point frame relay utilizing 128-Bit SSL encryption.
Physical Security
- Physical access to building and premise is controlled with security personnel.
- Access to server room is restricted to authorized personnel.
Insured Funds Protect Our Clients
The moment customers insert cash into a PaySite™ kiosk, a deposit is made into a trust account insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). This is the only insurance backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government.
Cash-Only Lists Are Automatically Enforced
U.S. Payments' Transaction Management System is designed to incorporate your "cash-only" list, limiting the payment options offered to certain customers. When a cash-only customer enters their account number, the payment options are limited to guaranteed funds such as cash and credit card. ACH is not presented as an option.
Return Limitations for Your Protection
The U.S. Payments Transaction Management System allows clients to specify the number of returns any customer is allowed within a time period. If a customer exceeds the return limit, they are automatically suspended from the service. Consequently, customers that try to take advantage of the system are quickly identified and denied access based on instruction from the client. Clients can provide U.S. Payments with guidelines for reinstatement.
